Advanced Search

Overview of updates from October 23, 2018

We have improved the Seldon.Pro search engine to increase the precision and flexibility of working with procurement data.

Advanced Search

Seldon.Pro’s basic search option contains the most essential filters. You can switch to the Advanced mode to refine the search results using an extended set of filters. Let’s have a look at the new search features.

Filter by Type

Here, you can specify the data type, i.e. procurement, lot or product/service. You can check multiple boxes to expand the search area:

You can specify additional keywords that must be included in or excluded from the search query:

Search query’s keywords are displayed in the tag field, which can be used instead of the primary search box.

We have introduced a sliding side menu that can be accessed when more than 5 keywords have been typed in. This makes it easy to manage large keyword sets without interfering with the main working area:

Search Within Results

If the search results are too broad, you can narrow them down by using the Search Within Results option. This way you can eliminate the unnecessary results and work only with the data you need.

Filter by Source

We have introduced the ability to restrict the search to a certain data source. Use the Source field to enter the platform name or its link. The autocomplete feature will suggest possible variants:

Organizations

By using advanced search, you can specify a certain organization and its role in the procurement process, i.e. customer, organizer, certifying authority or controlling entity. Use AND/OR operators to apply multiple values together or separately:

You can enter company’s name, TIN number or location in the corresponding fields to refine the search results. The applied search parameters are conveniently displayed as a list of tags below.

Additional Filters

There is more! We have introduced additional parameters to increase the search precision even further, i.e. auction date, contract performance location and Procurement ID Code. There is a Limitations field that can be used optionally:

Wildcard Symbols

Seldon.Pro’s search engine supports special wildcard symbols:

Stat* - the asterisk broadens a search by finding words that start with the same letters. In this case, the search results will include “station”, “stationery”, etc.

”Gas station” - quotation marks can be used to search for an exact phrase, however, word endings may vary.

!Gas station! - exclamation marks can be used to search for an exact phrase.
