Checking Your Business Partner

A guide to checking your business partner using Seldon.Pro and Seldon.Basis.

Before participating in a tender, we advise you to double-check both the customer and tender organizer. It can be easily done in Seldon.Pro: go to the tender page to see company's tendering activity statistics, compliance with the mandatory procedures, contract'related legal proceedings, etc.

The company's strong and weak points are visualized using a radar chart:

We talked about the chart in one of our previous posts: Customer's Strong and Weak Points.

Sometimes this information is not enough to make an unambiguous conclusion about a company. There is a tool that can help you with that.

Due Diligence in Seldon.Basis

You don't have to leave Seldon.Pro to check the company's contract and arbitration statistics. However, if you want to get a deeper insight into the company's history and activity, use a Seldon.Basis link:

You can check your business partner's financial situation and reliability even if they don't participate in tenders.

Foreign Customers & Due Diligence

Seldon.Basis is a standalone platform with paid access. Your Seldon.Pro subscription does not unlock access to Seldon.Basis. However, you can get a free trial access and check a certain company, or see how your own reputation is holding up.

Seldon.Basis interface is really user-friendly and similar to that of Seldon.Pro. Most of the data is visualized in the form of charts and figures, which makes it easier to perceive information:

What Data is Available?

Each company and sole proprietor has their information gathered in a single profile, which includes company details, contact information, registration details from EGRUL and EGRPO:

Information on arbitration cases, government contracts, enforcement proceedings, scheduled and non-scheduled inspections, bank guarantees, trademarks, licenses, patents, financials, etc. is presented in a separate, corresponding section:

Downloadable Data

You can download company details as a customizable file and work with it offline. You can use this file to prepare a report or conduct data analysis for your own needs.

You can get a data extract notarized by a digital signature, making it a valid legal document that can be submitted to any agency or authority:

Affiliated Companies; Shell Companies

You can make sure you are dealing with a reliable company by checking its affiliation with other entities. The Connections Tree visualizes all the company's connections by showing them on this tree-like, interactive diagram.

Information presented this way is much easier to interpret and analyze:

Seldon.Basis tells you about all shortcomings a company may have experiences or is experiencing: debts, detected violations, significant profit drops, etc. All the important information is presented first:
